How the daily bird games work
- Free, with no signup. Every game works for guests. Sign in with Google only if you want your bonus points banked on the leaderboard.
- One puzzle a day per game. Everyone gets the same puzzle on the same date. It changes at midnight, and there is no archive.
- Hints where they help. Silhouette and Bird Call reveal the bird's rarity tier after three wrong guesses and its habitat after five.
- No spoilers. Each game shows its answer only when you finish. Silhouette, Bird Call, Bird Connections and Bird Mini have a Share button that copies a spoiler-free result.
Which bird game should you play?
Each game trains a different part of bird identification. Silhouette trains your eye for shape and posture. Bird Call trains your ear. Habitat Match ties each species to where it lives. Birdle and Bird Mini build birding vocabulary, and Bird Connections tests how well you know families, seasons and names.

About the bird data
The games draw on our UK Birdedex of 721 species. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons. Recordings come from the xeno-canto archive and Wikimedia Commons, and each clip is credited in the game. To put a name to a real bird you can hear, use Bird Hear, our free bird sound identifier.

Are the bird games free?
Yes. All six are free and there is nothing to install. They play in your browser.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Guests can play every game every day, and today's progress is kept on your device. Sign in with Google if you want your bonus points banked on the leaderboard.
When do new puzzles come out?
Every game changes at midnight. For players in Britain that is midnight UK time: the games go by the date on your device. Everyone gets the same puzzles on the same date.
Is there a Wordle for birds?

Which game is the "name that bird" puzzle?
Two of them. Silhouette asks you to name that bird from its shape. Bird Call asks you to name it from a recording.
